Reclamation of Juan Dolio, Cabarete and Long Beach
As part of the real estate boom of the 2006 period, the Dominican government decided to relaunch 3 of what used to be very popular tourist destinations such as Juan Dolio, which had suffered a major decline due to several factors, including beach erosion.
The Dominican Republic contracted Boskalis to regenerate and rehabilitate the Juan Dolio beach, which produced extraordinary value, as many multi-million dollar luxury residential projects have been built and sold since 2007 in Juan Dolio.
Since the regeneration of the beach, Juan Dolio has positioned itself as one of the leading real estate tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic, which has benefited the country in the form of employment, GDP growth and the creation of a growing and sustainable tax base.
